You hit on it in the thread title--future generations. That's just it. Reduce the size of future generations. Beyond that discuss to your heart's content which symptom of the problem we need to deal with and how.

The way I see it, if you're stupid enough to eat crap like that to the point where it adversely affects your health, then you deserve it. Take away fast food and they'll still find something else as bad that suits their taste buds.

Try educating people (assuming they're capable of learning) instead of feeding them mental junk food.

Peta's antics can be a little over the top at times - what with their bikini-clad models knocking down people's doors, etc., etc. And yet, I have a hard time allowing my distaste for Peta's style get in the way of speaking up for animals when they cannot speak for themselves. Here in Britain, we have a scheme where any unused or out of date prescription drugs can be returned to any major pharmacy for destruction safely, rather than flushing down the looetc.

We have the same type program here in the USA, most pharmacies will take old drugs and properly dispose of them.
Apparently the pharm companies are allowed to dump into rivers because the concentrations will become harmless quickly from dilution. The old crap of "the solution to pollution is dilution". I wouldn't doubt some money goes under the table and/or...

Agreed. I cannot follow that path because I love animals and I keep many reptiles myself. I would never kill another animal for no reason. Mice are an interesting subject but I wouldn't feel guilty because the mouse is for the benefit of the snake which needs it to survive. It would eat them in the wild, too. So my mice-killing wouldn't be senseless. If people kill for no reason or keep animals in a horrible fashion.. then I am against that!
