Arc108-

Thank you for being so responsive and responsible! I really appreciate your help in clearing this up. I do hope that you'll continue to be an active user and that you'll take advantage of excerpting so that you can still let folks know about the issues you care about!

Thanks again for responding so quickly,

-josh

If you read it you will note it contains an article by an AP reporter and the identification that it is an AP article. As Josh noted they copyright all of their reports and do not allow their reuse. There may be more in that long article but it is not my responsibility to review them. I only try to point out the potential problems before someone else that may take issue does.

Folks... this is not the place for debate. Take it elsewhere.

Josh, you may want to look at the information from the SHAC site posted here. It may be more than you want here as there are names, phone numbers, and email addresses for companies ....

PS since this will only get me another taunt you might want to police the site yourself just in case ....

I really don't read the Animal Concerns area on a consistent basis so I need folks to point out when there are problems. I couldn't make a real call on whether that posting was in violation or not, but to be honest it was so freaking long and gratuitous (arc108 could have just linked to the website where the source was) that I deleted it. I'll probably always err on the side of deleting postings that are absurdly long and not original content. Perhaps it's just my mood today, but I think I've been pretty clear on this in the past.

Many, if not most, of his posts are like that as an FYI. There is a lot of bandwidth used that is for sure. Some are very long pages but are links, which I suppose are as short as can be made, but in order to know you would have to look in greater detail. As I said, pointing them out only gets more wasted bandwidth in the defense if the post or some such.

What I really need (and have asked for in the past) are some volunteers that are mature, stable and not inclined to censor those they disagree with solely because they disagree with them, to help out with monitoring the forum. The volume of postings has really increased quite a bit this year and there is no way I can monitor everything.

I am willing to promote some users here who would like to help keep an eye on things and help maintain the site. As I said, those users would have to have a proven track record of being able to not automatically only go after folks they disagree with.

I offered before and would again, but I doubt if anyone not pro-AR would be accepted by the newer members. It would probably crimp my style in posting too, unless there was a separate ID for the moderator.

I've seen it happening from all sides, and I'd smite anyone stepping over the line. I've never admin'd a discussion forum, but I do have some similar experience and would be happy to provide references verifying just how fair I am when simultaneously an active participant.
