Sounds good, Josh.

And it's good to see you back Luna, especially with such an insightful post as that.

Thank you Archer :D

I haven't had the appropriate time to contribute to this forum in a meaningful way, nor the inclination to contribute to the overwhelming number of "double-dumb-ass" threads of late. I will try to contribute more often but until there's cooperative collaboration on another matter that concerns me, that has to take 1st priority for my time.

Luna-

I am very impressed with your posting. If you were interested in being a moderator, I would love to have your help.

Ok, the debate around this seems to have died down. I'm preparing the boards to make room for moderators. You'll see a new EnviroLink Volunteers group listed as moderators of Introductions, Environmental Issues and Animal Concerns Issues. There are no members of that group yet (except my test account) but I will be adding up to four people this weekend. I am waiting to hear back from one person that I would like to add for balance sake.

I have to say I do like where this thread has taken us. If you've got something constructive to add to the dialogue, now is the time to do it before my decision is made. Obviously, everyone will be helping out as volunteers and if they don't work out, I will take action to correct the situation.

I appreciate your confidence and your offer, but I really must pass on the position. I simply can't devote the amount of time it would require. I'd be happy to contribute where I can in an unofficial capacity as time allows, but I truly have more than I can do in one day as it is.... at least for now. Should that change and you still have need, we can re-visit the subject then if you like.

I do not think you would make a good mod and I think this forum is set to change very soon ;)

Would you like to elaborate? Or do you not want your bluff to called too soon?

Sandra and Wayne will do fine :D

If I may, I might suggest that moderators also try and keep threads on subject. Multitudes of the same one over and over aren't helping with the atmosphere around here

Agreed... there are many tools at our disposal to do this, I just haven't used them effectively before!

To be safe I would propose that BOTH moderators agree on the deletion of any post that is not 1> directly in violation of the copyright issue or 2> is not clearly an abusive post. The others can be dealt with on a more leisurely schedule to help ensure there is not a biased approach.

I believe PMs between the Moderators on the FEW posts I expect to be called clearly abusive just to document them for the other moderator would be a good course of action.

From this crawling stage, we can proceed as the comfort level increases. I know that I am not comfortable removing any post at this point without a clear violation of one of the two issues above, just for the record.

Obviously this will be a learning process for us all, and as I have stated repeatedly, there will be mistakes made. Hopefully everyone will use good judgement and make a best effort.
