I...disagree with the concept that shortening a long screen name is derogatory in and of itself.
So do I. When I said, "such nick-names", I meant pejorative ones. But I agree that might sometime be hard to determine.

The insults and the like are bad, however, I must point out his use of such terms preceded this and it is hard to separate the usage from the receipt, especially when there was often backsliding on his part.
I agree with that too. As I've said before there is clearly fault on both sides and
he who shall be nameless obviously takes the cake for obscenity (even without the pornography which I'm glad to say I missed).
My point is that there is a
pattern here of persistent and orchestrated denigration and ridicule directed at susceptible AR Posters by others who appear to have no other object in view than to enrage and drive them from the Board. There have been other cases.
OinksQuote:
I would like to mention that having a family member that is dyslexic, the aforementioned poster showed no signs of being dyslexic, only a poor speller, which we all suffer from at some point or another.
I disagree. Consider the sentence structure, though I doubt either of us is qualified to judge on the available evidence. In any case, ***
said he was dyslexic and, IMO, unless we
know otherwise that should be good enough.
Quote:
Also, there are no studies that show that dyslexics suffer from anger management problems any more than the general population.
Communication difficulties can cause intense frustration and can result in angry outbursts and rages: particularly when ridiculed.
Not a radical new proposition Oinks.
Quote:
Sandra, please don't make excuses for *his* behavior by blaming it on his alleged dyslexia.
This is
really not the best time to practice your willful mis-representation skills Oinks.

I have said
nothing to excuse his behaviour; which is his own responsibility and, as Josh said later, *** "
allowed himself to be pushed over the edge". The point was, he was
pushed.
Quote:
I've spent half my life defending my family member against people calling him retarded and the like, simply because his brain works differently than others. It doesn't make him stupid or ignorant.
I'm sorry for it Oinks; really, but this has
nothing to do with your family member.

You are not being asked to accept responsibility for anyone's actions but your own.
Fosgate Quote:
Pornographic images? Good grief. I would have never expected this from anybody. I've lately swapped some PM's with the now-banned poster--all very cordial. Weird.
IMO Fos we would have got a lot more cordiality and more useful contributions (such as those on fox hunting) had he been treated with a reasonable modicum of respect.
wijimQuote:
i take great offense at the insinuation that amy, rf, donnie, myself and anyone else that i feel was targeted by the accusations of goading "the poster who will not be named" into posting pornography and such.
There was no insinuation. There is an
accusation of goading. Either you were part of it or you were not.
Quote:
i can speak for myself, my targeting of that person and their significant other
So, you targeted ***
and his, "significant other", I missed that.
Quote:
... due to their weak arguments, their abuse of the forum rules by trying loopholes ...
Weak arguments are, "targeted", by producing
better ones, you should try
that next time. Abuse of rules is not your business. That's why Josh, and more recently Wayne and I are here. Lodge your complaint next time and help to resolve the problem or stay out of it.

i guess i felt i was up on what type of person i was dealing with....i was correct in my assessment.
You mean you helped to push a vulnerable person over the edge? Good for you!
