Post subject:  Question about PM set up

might be a dumb question, but what's the difference between the "Sent Box" and "Out Box"? I sent a PM and it was instantly in my sent box, then 30 min. later sent another, and that one wasn't in my sent box. However, I then found it in my Outbox.

Your sentbox are PM's you sent and the other person has read them.

Your outbox are PM's you sent but the person has not read them yet.

I am pretty sure that is right.

Thanks Red. But it just came to me while changing the bed sheets lol. My Outlook email at work has the same funtion. You hit send, but sometimes the email is delayed and subsequently stored in the Outbox for any number of reasons - slow system, whatever. Then once the traffic clears, it goes. PM here must work along those same lines. I don't believe you have an option to get a "read receipt" for your PM's, only an option to get email notification when a new one arrives in your inbox (in your Profiles set up)

Grace-

I actually don't know the answer to your question. RedFurry's answer sounds as plausible as any I could come up with!

Redfurry's explanation fits what I have seen of the function. The message moves from one box to the other once it has been opened.

Well we could test that theory but I'm too lazy. Sounds good as any.

I know it is right. The PM system is set up the same way on many sites I go to.

Hey,

The avatar I did not make. But, I did make the glitter signature.

Here is how I made it... which is really simple. All you have to do is go to a few sites:

Go Here: http://linuxenvy.com/bprentice/Banners/Banners.html

Type in what you want it to say in the Banner Text spot and pick the font and the font size. Change the backgroud color to transparent and click submit. You can do this over and over again till you get what you like. Once you get it just right save it to your computer.

Next, go to http://studio.webbyland.com/MagickStudio/scripts/MagickStudio.cgi On the file name spot, click browse and pick the banner you just made. Click view.

There are tabs at the top of the page. Click Composite. Keep this window open and go to this site now: http://www.wtv-zone.com/aylana/bringontheglitter/bringontheglitter-1.html Then, pick the glitter you want to use for the signature. Click on the glitter you want and copy the URL. There are also many other sites where you can glitter at on that site. Or, if you have your own you can use that.

Go back to the other site and on the URL spot paste the Url you just had. On the gravity spot put north. At the bottom of the page there is a little box that says "tile across and down the image canvas" Check that box. Now click composite.

At the top go to output. Make sure the format is set to gif. and the storage type is multi-frame file. Click output.

And that is how you make a glitter signature. Just save it to your computer. I hope that was easy to understand sice I did it on the top of my head. And I think that is what you were asking for right?

I hope this helps yout guys out.
