One thing I've noticed in this forum is how people do not know how to quote properly!?!

I removed the photos mentioned here only because some clown had reposted them on the same page...

Netiquette says you never quote a entire post, but only the specific item you are responding to, and you never ever repost a image!

Looking at these pages they are a complete mess and very confusing, what with people quoting quotes within quotes half a dozen deep, and then adding a cute few words of their own at the end... It only takes a few clicks to remove the parts within a quote when clicking 'quote', but I guess that these litter bugs would find that overly strenuous eh!

:(

Is it overly strenuous to skip over it?

Screw your hypocritical netiquette.

So who's this Netiquette person and are they registered here?

But yeah. Agreed. It's pretty silly. Some of these 30 page threads could probably fit on 1 or 2 with some trimming.

I agree that people tend to quote entire posts all the time and after you scroll all the way down they've just written "I agree" or something annoying like that. I'm not suggesting any enforced rules here, but it is annoying. Beyond annoying, it takes up more space in the database that stores everything here and causes tools like the search engine to bog down after enough people do it. I appreciate Spin and others helping to educate others about good netiquette.

BTW... for all of you backwoods-living, freedom fries-loving, NASCAR-watching francophobes... netiquette is NOT some crazy socialist system imported from France.

ps- I ascribe to all of the accepted Core Rules of Netiquette, except Number 9 which I have lobbied against for years.

Unless of course, the entire post is as short as this one here. I agree though. It is tough to navigate when one quotes multiple sentences, if not paragraphs.

On the other hand, we have some that forget what they said and find quoting of their own specifics hard to follow. I do it anyway. It's easier for myself and others to follow that way.
