Dear Josh,
I'm currently using my own name and would like to change to a nom de plume like almost everyone else. Can you please advise if I can and how to do it. Sandra John

Sandra John-

I would just register under a different name. If that doesn't work, post the name you want to change yours to and I can see if I can do it behind the scenes.

At the top of every page on the site, you'll see a list of options (FAQ, Search, Memberlist, etc.). One of those probably says "Log Out". Click that and then you should see a Login/Register link somewhere on the page. Just click register and make pretend your are re-registering from scratch.

It may or may not allow you to register from the same e-mail address. If it does not and you only have one e-mail address, let me know and I'll just manually change your username for you.

I think the idea of not making it easy to change your user handle is so that trust (or lack thereof) is built up around our identities and it is important for folks to know that UserA and UserB are actually the same person. This is generally a good thing and a "feature" you see at other sites like EBay, Amazon, etc.

Dear Josh
thank you. I thought of that but assumed I'd just be logged out so didn't risk it.

I understand about the trust / identity and I have already made some posts so it's a bit awkward. But I seem to be almost the only one using my own name so its starting to feel too formal.

But I won't want to change again.

You are female, correct? You will not want to change again? LOL :P

Sorry Josh but I could not resist that straight line.

BTW I still have that phantom "1 new message" thingy going on.

Dear Satan Jr

You are male, right? Would you want me not to change again?

But, I'm glad to know I'm irresistable. :P
