Taking Responsibility on Publishing the Controversial Paper “On the Misdiagnosis of Surface Temperature Feedbacks from Variations in Earth’s Radiant Energy Balance” by Spencer and Braswell, Remote Sens. 2011, 3(8), 1603-1613

Abstract: Peer-reviewed journals are a pillar of modern science. Their aim is to achieve highest scientific standards by carrying out a rigorous peer review that is, as a minimum requirement, supposed to be able to identify fundamental methodological errors or false claims. Unfortunately, as many climate researchers and engaged observers of the climate change debate pointed out in various internet discussion fora, the paper by Spencer and Braswell [1] that was recently published in Remote Sensing is most likely problematic in both aspects and should therefore not have been published. So, out of many thousands of good peer reviewed papers and data, a few bad apples are going to ruin everything? Even though all the other papers are not in contact and sealed from effects of a bad paper??? The denialists have about the opposite in bunk papers and freely mix them in all together as if sheer quantity of BS, mixed with a tiny bit of non-BS, will win over intelligent people.
Of course, it is very unfortunate that the average IQ is too low. So they actually do influence the politicians and majority of low foreheads. So insufficient change in too long a time frame gets us past the tundra methane self release tipping point and humans go extinct with 87% of other species.
