There are too few green Teddy Roosevelt conservationist conservatives. The rest of the so-called conservatives embarrass me with their ignorance and denial. They deny AGW and overpopulation. The only good things they are for is stopping illegal immigration, deporting the illegals here, and fiscal conservatism with balancing the budget., which are very good, but we need much more. Neither party embraces non-growth economics or population quality and quantity control. Even the Green Party doesn't. These are necessities to prevent the further erosion with eventual economic and ecological collapse of America. No more 40 minute videos!!! Here is THIS conservative's (my) view; "If there is to be any hope of avoiding civilization-threatening climate disruption, the U.S. and other nations must act immediately and aggressively on an unprecedented scale. That means moving to emergency footing. War footing. "Hitler is on the march and our survival is at stake" footing. That simply won't be possible unless a critical mass of people are on board. It's not the kind of thing you can sneak in incrementally." |

So true, Fosgate. Population IS the multiplier of everything else; http://www.postcarbon.org/Reader/PCRead ... lation.pdf Here is what we need in addition to renewables: "GenIV Integral Fast Reactors can EAT nuclear waste! Indeed, today's nuclear waste suddenly becomes an invaluable ASSET — not problem — worth $30 trillion dollars! I've been looking for years for a source of reliable, baseload, cheap, abundant and plentiful electricity. (And did I mention reliable, not intermittent? ) I was once a nuclear sceptic. Now I'm a nuclear advocate. The difference was Dr Barry Brook. See his short summary here. Sustainable Energy Choices for the 21st Century - YouTube The bottom line is I wish renewables could do the job, but there are still too many hurdles. Dr Brook documents them all. As do the peak oil doomers. However, there's no doomer comeback for IFR's. They are THE silver bullet. Cheap, abundant electricity that can power the world until the sun expands and cooks this planet! Just today's nuclear waste could run the world for 500 years!" from eclipsenow.com, but a synopsis of Hansen in "Storms of My Grandchildren". |
