forced change boosts the economy because people are buying products and services to fulfill the forced change putting money in the hands of those who provided said products and services who in tern spend that money on other peoples products and services who in turn spend... on and on. People get desperate for money and in the face of unemployment, they create their own money making schemes which creates jobs and a need for products and services to start that business (and you know the drill, their suppliers spend that money...) We need more things like Al Gore scares (true or fictional) to save us from a prolonged economic depression.
