I have a different goal with my "green" efforts... I want to have more wild spaces. Because of this, the whole global warming thing is irrelevant because my efforts to save wild spaces results in a very "low carbon lifestyle" so global warming can be ignored for me. What disturbs me is when I talk to very intelligent people who feel that wasting energy is a good thing for the economy. They even think any warming, if it even is happening, would be a good thing. My first suspicion is that they are sucked into the oil lobby propaganda but by probing the source of their ideas, it seems that it is only a reaction to Al Gore.

Personally, I do not understand Gore hatred. It started with his movie which was right on. In fact it was a little conservative because it didn't have the latest data on tundra melt and, at the time, the first inklings of geometric methane releases. The antis and haters certainly did not want to change their lifestyles or have anything cost THEM money. Selfish, greedy, ignorant, stubborn, are all words I could use to describe them. Their(the anti-AGW, anti-Gore crowd) minions went on a spree of disinformation that is still affecting the majority of people sharing at least some of their qualities above.
