Gen IV nuclear, well developed by 1994, is the answer, NOT CO2 producing natural gas. If humans do not reduce emissions 90% or more in a decade or less, that same methane with be self releasing in the arctic, then oceans. This will result in AETM (much worse than PETM, and 10 to 40 times faster), and an 87% ELE completion(worse than K-T which was 75%)----Ecocide.
"Greener" and "Green Enough" are not the same, and remember the time limit. Plus all the horror stories of eco-ruin in my state from all the ugly fracking wells, many on people's home property. Turning everything to NG would only buy 5 more years if done instantly, when the effort should be for totally emissions free power, sailing ships, and the end of the jet and diesel age (except for a very small amount of bio-diesel). Some NG will have to be used for home heat, and there's the 10% emissions already.
