Post subject:  The Green School Effect - Today's Children, Tomorrow's Hope

It seems to me that this is where we should start if we want to have hope for the future.

Radical changes must be made in the way we educate our children, if they are to become the planet's healers (which they will have to; we have left them no other choice).

It is EXCACTLY where we need to start. Yes.

And one might even say that if we can rear children who do not end up needing healing themselves, they will naturally be transformative forces because they will be unencumbered by the forces of religion, nationalism, economic competition, etc.

There are many educational efforts afoot these days which introduce a new paradigm in education. Seems this 'green school' in Bali is one such creation/vision. From having watched this little video I can see that it is probably something I would support. Would love to know more though. Regardless, I will share it with friends and family ..... maybe a few bites.

I have spent 15 years or so as an alternative educator and have become "burned out", and so now I mostly garden. But I am always and forever very interested in all ideas, movements, and new approaches to education. I hate to say it, but by the time one has reached their 40's and 50's and has become so entrenched in beliefs ... usually of the national, religious, or corporate kind .... it's probably too late. So when I hear of this kind of project, I am inspired!

I will share this campaign ..... our kids need it and we need it and the planet needs it if we are to survive. And apart from the campaign, if you ever wish to discuss anything to do with education, I'm listening .....

This is SO true. I have a 7-year old and a 5-year old, and there is nothing that I want more than to raise them in a way that they are "healthy" (physical, mind, spirit) enough to be able to become these transformative forces that you speak of. I can only hope that I am on the right path...

Me too! That's why I would like to see the film. I think that, if it is well made, which I believe it will be (I know the editor very well and he is amazing at what he does), it could inspire other people to start similar initiatives around the world.
