Yeah, some of those denigelicals can see all those angels dancing on the point of the razor....but they end up squinting so hard, they ruin their sight and end up unable to see anything at all.

Well, it's not as if warmest don't sometimes get rude and use that "denier" word. Of course, if there is a ton of evidence, for example, that the earth is square, then all the people who think it's round are deniers. This is not true, of course. The earth is octagonal. It's really fun to live on the ridges.
Anyways, I do think that, as a general rule, environmentalists do not like capitalism very much. America especially is a very market-based society, and being rich is basically the only way to get real respect. Needless to say, arguing against being rich and taking away the rich stuff (oil) is a good way to make people want to shoot the messenger, especially since the message is mostly straight lemon juice. (Metaphorically.)

Pure capitalism is a bad system for most people and the environment. This is why there have been so many laws enacted to restrain the system and make it better for others than the wealthy in control. Of course, one will hear of a rags to riches story or two that supposedly shows how well the system can work for everyone. The problem is this is flawed logic. The cases of those rags to riches are no more common than those who become rich by winning the lottery. There is a reason the lottery is called a tax on those who are mathematically illterate. For every ticket winning a million dollars there are over a million tickets purchased who win nothing. Thus, the lottery takes money from the majority, many of which cannot afford the loss, and use it to make one person better off. Much like the history of capitalism where the advertisements may be much better than the actual product. Many systems work well in theory, but in practice that is another matter. So we are left to hybridize the systems and tweak the results to try to make a workabel system that is better for the majority.
