I've posted this before but I realize denialists tend to be terminally confused and don't experience anything outside there little bubble of unreality. Still I will offer this again. Since temperature measurements for the whole earth began back in 1880 we have had two periods where temperatures reached a high that they subsequently didn't get up to for over 30 years later. Natural variability is real as is the influence of dirty fossil fuel combustion producing global cooling aerosols. In addition we have had 4 successive decades leading up to this one where each was on average higher than the last. If this decade temporarily breaks the trend then it is about time. The highest recorded earth temperatures were in 2005 and 2010 so using the 30 year standard get back to me in 2040 if we haven't by then set a new record.
In the mean time the glaciers keep melting, the oceans keep rising and becoming more acidic. You can run but you can't hide.
