Blog v Actual media report .... blog v actual media report ..... blog v actual media report ..... still cannot see the credibility. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25328508 West Antarctica continues to lose ice to the ocean and this loss appears to be accelerating, according to new data from Europe's Cryosat spacecraft. The dedicated polar mission finds the region now to be dumping over 150 cubic km of ice into the sea every year. It equates to a 15% increase in West Antarctica's contribution to global sea level rise. Cryosat was launched in 2010 with a radar specifically designed to measure the shape of ice surfaces. And the instrument's novel design, scientists believe, is enabling the European Space Agency satellite to observe features beyond the capability of previous missions. |

Milton how many of those views are bots? or people like me who are just bored and like watching arguments. turns out climate science is not the only subject you don't know about how the internet works either. I seriously doubt any fence sitters actually come here to make their mind up. |

Fence sitters some sanity from the press. Not the American or European press I'm afraid. A very good interview with three actual scientists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C35pasCr6KI |

I've posted this before but I realize denialists tend to be terminally confused and don't experience anything outside there little bubble of unreality. Still I will offer this again. Since temperature measurements for the whole earth began back in 1880 we have had two periods where temperatures reached a high that they subsequently didn't get up to for over 30 years later. Natural variability is real as is the influence of dirty fossil fuel combustion producing global cooling aerosols. In addition we have had 4 successive decades leading up to this one where each was on average higher than the last. If this decade temporarily breaks the trend then it is about time. The highest recorded earth temperatures were in 2005 and 2010 so using the 30 year standard get back to me in 2040 if we haven't by then set a new record. In the mean time the glaciers keep melting, the oceans keep rising and becoming more acidic. You can run but you can't hide. |

Now fence sitters when a skeptical premise makes its way into pop culture the true believers really are beginning to have a problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXmKCs1PiEM |

Fence sitters please note the cracks in the AGW foundation continue at an ever increasing rate. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/enviro ... wrong.html Quote: One of the central issues is believed to be why the IPCC failed to account for the “pause” in global warming, which they admit that they did not predict in their computer models. Since 1997, world average temperatures have not shown any statistically significant increase. The summary also shows that scientist have now discovered that between 950 and 1250 AD, before the Industrial Revolution, parts of the world were as warm for decades at a time as they are now. Despite a 2012 draft stating that the world is at it’s warmest for 1,300 years, the latest document states: “'Surface temperature reconstructions show multi-decadal intervals during the Medieval Climate Anomaly (950-1250) that were in some regions as warm as in the late 20th Century.” ########################## There are climate models that have forecasted this hiatus and more of the so called pauses to come. |
