The final estimates in the working draft of the report, still considered preliminary and subject to change, are not likely to change much based on the peer review, Rogers said. The report suggests waters off the coast of Wilmington could rise 2-5 inches over the next 30 years, compared to a range of 6-12 inches near Duck, N.C. An earlier iteration of the report released in 2010 estimated a statewide swell as high as 39 inches by 2100, leading the N.C. General Assembly to stall creation of policy addressing sea level rise until an updated report is compiled and submitted to the state legislature by March 1, 2016.

The politicians are smart enough to recognize politics when they see it. And, over exaggerating politically driven climate science as usual. They will use this tactic as long as those they want to benefit can line their pockets. But, actually do something about it. You don't understand the nature of a politician especially a leftist politician. They don't want solutions. They only wish to justify their position with the presence of a problem.

Clueless as always, the GOP politicians in the legislature forbade the use of the prior study because they wanted to disbelieve and punted the action until another study was finished, which is coming up with very similar results. That is what science does and the political belief the science is somehow debatable just stopped action for a while .... again. The ones who will eventually suffer are those taxpayers which will also be forced to help foot the bill for the unsupportable coastal structures.

So much for all that superb, generally left-wing-inspired "science" education. I agree it looks great on paper. Knowledge is awesome. But if it can't or won't be applied usefully, practically, it's as good as no education at all. We've gained nothing if the difference in the means doesn't equate to a difference in the end.

Education isn't the problem. It's attitude.
