Yep, I certainly hope to kill some animals in the upcoming months. All of the meat from last year is gone and the freezer looks pretty empty. Time to refill it. 8)

I find just biting a chunk of flesh off a ham string from a living animal doesn't work for me and would certainly not help the critter escape having other chunks ripped off by other animals. Thus death, seems like a good option for the hamstring owner. Since all living organisms face those challenges in having dead food to promote living cells health I wonder why the Ante's of this world are so ashamed of their being alive. Self Flagellation and hatred for the web of life, seems like the most likely answer.

Morn, 'Cat. Welcome to the board.

My lady-friend was a vegatarian for 10 years but gave it up and now eats at least some animal products.

She says she feels much better doing so.

What makes hunting seem cruel to you?

Is meat eating all that you ceased? If so and you feel the way you do suddenly, you must have been eating inordinate amounts and/or some bad portions of it regularly.

what for we need such cruel thing as hunting in our lifes?

Same reason we need to be vegetarian I suppose.

Actually cat, hunting is not cruel when done by the only humane tool in nature's arsenal. Please reflect on that statement. Is it more cruel for an animal to starve to death because you ate all the vegan plant foods that would have fed it? Is it less cruel to cull excess animals from herds and packs then allow their group numbers to intensify to the point that they are getting killed by contagious diseases, winter starvation, tooth and claw shredding of flesh or increased motor vehicule accidents?

How is hunting "cruel"? A well placed placed bullet or arrow to the heart/lung area makes for a quick, humane death. Is meeting death this way more or less cruel than the kind of death nature would deal out, such as disease, starvation, freezing, or being killed by a non-human predator?
Here's something to think about. Do you realize that crop agriculture, which, of course, produces your vegetarian food, is responsible for countless animal deaths, most of which are anything but suffering-free? Small animals and birds that live in the fields are run over by tractors during planting. They are sucked into combines, and other such machinery, and chopped up alive in these machines during harvest. Furthermore, grain elevators, bins, and the like where the harvest is stored usually poison or lethally trap pests like rats and mice. Given these facts, I would argue that the venison on my plate, hunted and killed by me myself, involves less animal death, and less animal suffering, than the tofu on your plate, which is produced by industrialized agriculture. Perhaps you ought to look in the mirror and contemplate your own lifestyle and dietary habits, before you judge those of others to be less "moral".

The Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting has already been mentioned once, but I think it deserves mentioning again, especially the section that talks about the fact that vegans depend on hunters for their food. I have never met an anti-hunting farmer. Do the vegans here only buy their food from farms that don't allow hunting?

Hunting, may it be legal or illegal is still immoral and violates animal rights.

If Fish could scream...........

yesterday on TV, fishing programe finally pulled in a fish after hours of sporting with it, the fish was half dead but not quiet, still thrashing around. So he sticks this spike into it and then it bleeds, thrashing around, he finally after holding it up, the fish gasping for water, he finally chops its head off.

That was enough for me.

is fishing hunting?
