Yes, here in NL there is a specialist person who knows about hedgehogs and their care = whats so strange or funny about that? It is helpful. It was the animal welfare people who gave the instructions on how to make the hedgehog houses - they have entrances into it which only the Hedgehog can get into and keeps predators out because they cannot reach. Some people do unselfishly give their time and help to animals in need and make them well again to go back to the wild to live on - well certainly in Europe, perhaps where you come from nobody cares enough? Maybe a bullet will fix it good and proper, eh, maybe an animal is not worth the trouble to you!? Excuse me for saying that if it is not correct - it is the way that you put yourself across.. If an animals can be saved from death and recover through medical care, then why not sort it? or perhaps you just are not familiar with these things because your not interested in creatures in that way and you would not get involved in that sort of thing? I am a veggie, veggie is my choice not anyone elses - they can eat what they want. You can call everyone of a different mindset and with a different way of caring for animals from yourself hypocrites and laugh and scoff all you want but in doing that you are setting yourself up to appear arrogant, intolerant and unreasonable, who is to say that you are right and who do you and your cronies think that you are? Judging others in a way in which your not happy to be judged yourself. It goes both ways. What is the solution between those against hunting and those for it, for people who eat meat and those who dont, for 2 sets of people with opposite views? There has to be some compromise and reason. You tell me that I have no right to stop people hunting - It appears that a few of you suggest that I or others have no right help rescue animals in need and think its stupid or laughable...?! What is the solution? because sniping and being bloody-minded for the sake of it is an absolute waste of time and deliberate stirring. (I had an unreasonable, out of character outburst on a bad day about hunters which set of a chain reaction of daftness). So let it stop here. There are people like me who get actively involved in helping animals - just because it is a hedgehog does not make it less important than any other animal - it has a right to care too and recover if it can unless you can enlighten me as to why not. CL If your going to continue on the same slag-off theme, then there will be no point in continuing the discussion. Addition - my cats and the hedgehogs had no trouble with each other in the summer - in fact they shared food at the same time, have photos to prove it - no cat caused casualties at all. The cats were not interested in the hedgehogs. |

I was trying very hard to believe Catlady might actually be someone from where she said, but the dialogue now sounds so much like a previous poster, it's hard to play along. Catlady; is there some link we can check out regarding these hedgehog bed and breakfasts? And those are indeed some amazing cats.....do they hunt birds or mice? |

FYI (not that it is any of your business): I never, ever said I was a netherlander, I said I lived there and I do, dutch is not my original nationality. Some folk do move to other countries to live. |

Sure enough: there are hedgehog winter-lodges. Though it might be a bit more believing if the link was from something other then a UK one.(Waves to X-black). Any word on whether your cats include birds and mice in their diet? |

What is it with you people? Ok you want a dutch version - can you speak or read dutch, I can but my main language is english so I tend to use english google and english speaking sites. I sent you an english one because I thought you might not understand a dutch ones description. However, oyu can look it up yourself now I gave you the dutch name of a hedgehog house - egel huis go to google.nl and type it in.
