Volkart Van der Graaf, a 32-year-old animal rights activist, has been arrested in connection with the shooting of maverick Right-wing Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn in a car park ten miles south-east of Amsterdam.
Despite questioning him for more than 24 hours, detectives can find no motive for the killing of the flamboyant 54-year-old leader of Holland's anti-immigration party, who was shot six times at point blank range.

It was a politically motivated killing, he was a racist.
"Van der Graaf, a 33-year-old vegan environmentalist, said he shot Fortuyn because he saw him as a power-hungry threat to society who "abused democracy" by trying to make scapegoats of vulnerable social groups for his own gain."

It is also believed that the above murderer killed a Conservation officer a few years earlier using the same gun & ammo but it was never proven. Fortuyn actually supported the maintaining of mink ranches and that didn't sit well with the murderer. Fortuyne was also looking like he could win the election because he came out strongly against the infiltration of Muslims into the Netherlands which solidified a popular vote within the Netherlands society which would have meant business as usual for ranchers & farmers. This guy walked but if he had been as reckless with a gun as he was with his gyrocopter in the UK, he would be behind bars till hell froze over
An animal rights activist who killed a fox hunt supporter by driving a gyrocopter at his head walked free from court today after being cleared of manslaughter.
Bryan Griffiths, 55, was piloting the aircraft when its 200mph blade cleaved the head of Trevor Morse from top to bottom.

He was cleared in a court of law. The man shouldn't have been on the airfield in the first place, it's against the law!
