I can recommend you a great website for animal activists:

www.effectiveanimalactivism.org

"Effective animal activism is an online resource and international community for people who want to reduce animal suffering effectively."

"Effective Animal Activism is based on the idea that we should do good well. Altruism is great – but it also has to be effective. Our rough estimate suggests that some forms of activism do tens of thousands of times more good than others. It’s the difference between writing a hundred dollar check and donating your life’s savings. All you need is the right information, and we’re here to help with that." http://www.effectiveanimalactivism.org/why-ea

For me, the biggest form of suffering, in terms of length of suffering and in terms of numbers of individuals suffering is always the loss of habitat for wildlife animals BUT not the generally violent death of predation. This is a big drive for me in all my efforts to improve lives of animals. This website does not address that at all and only has two hits in a search for the word "wildlife"... one being the link below. Note the high emphasis on predation and lack of other solutions. Working on lots of animal farms for a wide variety of species, I am convinced that the suffering levels are usually low due to it not making financial sense to have unhealthy animals. Predation is also prevented so a domestic animal can have a very peaceful and healthy life compared to their wild counterparts. Going vegan is also a dead-end goal... once you have become vegan, there is no more you can do on that front.

I will give them credit though for not supporting PeTA due to a lack of credibility of how they spend their money... a good portion seems to go to ALF which funds terrorist activities... yeah, they are not going to get any details from PeTA.

This is another very good website on the topic:

ccc.farmsanctuary.org

"Compassionate Communities was created to promote and train animal advocates and grassroots groups in the most effective forms of vegan advocacy and vegan community building. We want you to be able to help as many animals as possible. We’re here to support you by providing direct support, physical resources, instructions on best practices, and blog content to help you sharpen your advocacy skills."
