Hey, everyone!

I am an animal rights and vegan activist, and have been most of my life. I started my life as a 2nd generation vegetarian, and now have been vegan for half my life. It is now my intention that at least 75% of my diet be raw from now on. For those who know me ... among other things, I am the Writer and Director of Saints & Angels which was the first (and probably only) fictional feature film that shows the A.L.F. as heroes.

It seems to me, and others, that it is time that vegetarians, vegans, and animal rights activists be portrayed in a positive light in feature films and TV programs.

Let's face it, there are millions of vegetarians and vegans around the world, and many of us are insulted by being portrayed in films and TV shows as pale, 85 pound hippies that look sickly and need a murdered farm animal's carcass and dairy products to feel better. Environmentalists and animal rights activists are usually portrayed as kooks, too.

A bunch of vegetarian film and video cast and crew members have gotten together and now we plan on changing all that. We need your support. Obviously no one wants to encourage or be involved with any criminal activity and yet they still want to do whatever they can to promote animal rescue, welfare and rights. Helping us by becoming a Member of www.GreenLightFlix.com will continue to give us the financial support we need to produce the films WE want to see. All Members will get a FREE DVD and other really cool stuff.

Imagine heroic films like 'Rocky,' dramatic films like 'The Breakfast Club,' romantic comedies like 'Serendipity,' and more --- except the main characters are obviously animal rights activists and vegetarians or vegans. That is what we plan to do. The positive examples will do more to promote our positive lifestyle than all the horrific slaughterhouse videos on You Tube.

Thanks to financial gifts from vegetarians, vegans, and animal rights activists, we have already begun production on two positive, uplifting, educational, and fun documentaries (V-Day and Guy Going Green). We also have two feature films in development and a series of "cooking videos."

I don't want to go against forum protocol and post any more information here unless it is requested, but if anyone has any ideas for scripts, or has completed scripts, or supports this idea, please let me know. We are on the same team and our intentions and expectations are high.

Imagine what the world would be like in the future if everyone is vegan and non-human animals are liberated.

Let's make a positive difference.

Keep up the great work!

Cardinal

So this is basically, 'feel-good' propaganda you're planning on making?

Not interested.

"Yo, Adarian, no mo eggs?" "No, Rocky sweets, you mustn't eat eggs, it's so very horrid and yucky.' 'Adarian, I'm a fighter, I beat people up fo a livin'. Ain't no live chicks in eggs...' 'Stop making sense and eat your tofu.'

Wow, that is a really negative assumption and reply. Thankfully there are plenty of people who are interested in doing anything legal and positive that promotes animal rights and veganism.

If someone saw ROCKY and during the course of the film it was revealed that he was a Vegan, would that be considered "feel good propaganda?" No. Instead, just as many people would still love the film, and perhaps a bunch of others might be inspired to go vegan, too.

The fact is, most people will NEVER watch slaughterhouse footage. Heck, Animal rights activists don't even want to watch anymore. So are you suggesting we just keep on producing that and nothing else? That makes sense to you?

We are producing a documentary right now that is similar to SUPER SIZE ME. I think it is safe to say that more people may have been disgusted and turned away from McDonalds as a result of that than they would have b watching footage of the factory farms where the cows come from.

It is important to appeal to as many people as possible. That is not "feel good propaganda" it is a strategy. It is one of many strategies.

Wow, we have been swamped with tons of positive e-mails and calls and replies. I guess sooner or later we were going to run into someone who was going to make an unsolicited assumption and be negative. Congrats. You are that person.

No need to reply. There is enough negativity in the world. There is absolutely no need for anymore.

Friendly regards,

c

I seem to have touched a nerve.

I'm shooting closer to the mark then even I first thought.

Iowanic... shoot somewhere else, this is not an area of this forum for debate.

It is, however, a part of our site for welcoming people... so, welcome GreenLightFlix!

I am an animal rights and vegan activist, and have been most of my life. It is now my intention that close to 100% of my diet be raw from now on. I have had friends and employees of mine who have been threatened with their life by A.L.F. activists and one was burned to death in her home above her pet store after an animal rights raid.

It seems to me, that it is time that rodents and other small animals be portrayed in a positive light in feature films and TV programs. As such I will be raising animals for pets to make and fund the operation of a facility safe from animal rights activists where I can safely raise animals as animal actors.

Welcome fellow film maker. I hope we can get along in spite of our differing experiences with ALF.

Hello, GLF.

Sorry for budding in, but I wish to apologize for my remarks previous in this intro. I can be a bit of a cynic sometimes. I may not agree with you on some things, but there was no reason for my being so rude.

Sorry.

If possible, you should try to find and read the book MY LIF EIN THE WILD by legendary Hollywood Producer Ivan Tors (Flipper, Sea Hunt, Gentle Ben, Daktari, Namu the Killer Whale, etc.

Through kindness and understanding, he almost single handedly changed the way animals were trained and viewed by the entertainment industry ... at least those he was responsible for. He actually went to college to study zoology and biology, but ended up as a screenwriter for MGM in the 1940s and 1950s, and then started producing his own projects.
