Hello all,

Don't remember how I came to find this forum - but was interested in joining to talk to like minded people, and get good ideas and advice on how to live a greener life.

I'm a happy person generally, I was even awarded with the "most bubbly" employee award at work..... but sometimes I get really down when I take a look at all the destruction and damage we are inflicting upon the planet. Sometimes it's hard feeling so helpless to do anything for the horrible things I see on the news, or read about - but then I have small victories - that make me feel like my voice might be louder than I thought.

Watching those videos that show animal cruelty makes me cry, watching documentaries on the rapidly disappearing rain forests, or polluting of our worlds ocean makes me sad and hopeless. Much like everything in life - no one is going to care about it until its gone. For months, my morning news was filled with new problems with the BP Oil spill....... and at the end of it all.....no one was punished, no one was charged with negligence, and there seem to be some arrogant people who, even after this horrible event, are in the works to build more deep water oil projects...... when will they learn?

Up here in Ontario, we are gearing up to fund more green sustainable energy - one of the first projects, a few wind turbines out in the suburbs - was the focal point of a bunch of local residents who started bitching about the aesthetics of the turbines, how their property values are going down, and how the noise and vibration is negatively affecting their health. Ive slept at a friends house who is in the area of one of these turbines......... I heard no noise, and felt nothing.

Anyways - I am super passionate about clean/green living in my own life, and am hoping to find other ways to get involved and be heard.

Cheers
