Maryann-

This is both an animal and environmental concerns community. We get some interesting blends of beliefs here as a result. For example, many hunters consider themselves conservationists and belong to environmental organizations, however not many seem to consider themselves animal rights activists. Over the years I've learned that there are also a group of hunters and meat eaters that consider themselves pro-animal welfare but don't quite cross over to animal rights.

When I created this forum, I wanted the Animal Concerns part to encompass all of these folks so that a constructive dialogue could take place.

Welcome to all!

Well, I never really found the utility of having a one-sided discussion! If everyone agrees with you, what's the point?

And if I remember correctly you dragged some of us (some should have been drugged too but that is another story) kicking and screaming from the pure enviornmental side too ... ... I'll bet there are times you wished you had listened to us too .... but then it would not have been quite as much fun either ....

True, and now there's very little discussion on the environmental side. I keep the news feed flowing there in the hopes that people will want to chat about them. Maybe I need to find a way to promote them more.
