Hi all,

Just a shortie to introduce myself - I am a writer/broadcaster based in the UK and I specialise on the broad topic of Downshifting and Sustainable Living.

I also put together a non-profits awareness campaign called National Downshifting Week (UK/USA), see for details.

I believe there is great power in the 'Individual' to create and effect change for the common good of our local and global environments.

I also believe the best way to bring this about is by using encouraging methods, rather than enforcing prohibitive or negative action - this 'dip your toes in' approach has worked incredibly well so far and I will continue to spread the good, green message this way.

I will post details of my trip to America this summer, as I launch the 1st National Downshifting Week across the pond and hope for your support of it.

Just a little update, I have just started broadcasting a show on my local hospital radio, called 'Slow Down and Green Up'.

It's on Wednesdays from 10 until noon and you can catch it on the Internet on .

I am still cutting my teeth on all the technology (this, from a girl who struggles with the double light switch in the living room) but if you fancy a giggle at my feeble attempts to get to grips with it, tune in!
