Welcome, Ian. Can I do a shameless self-plug here? On our site. specifically
here, we collect links of companies that think like you. If you stumble upon a company, would you be so kind to let us know? They are hard to track down.
Just thought I would mention another reason to use dark colours for web pages (regarding energy and monitors), the monitors should last longer too which would reduce the chemical load and embedded energy of those monitors.
I am starting three companies (that all are connected but unique in mission) and all should have a positive impact on the environment in some way. I will try to get listed when I get a website going for each. These three companies are:
1) alternate energy construction contractor (may be coupled with a non-profit research organization that tests ideas on alternate energy ideas)
2) alternate farming methods (small animals and automated greenhouses which make for local foods that avoid embedded energy due to transport, packaging, fertilizers and pesticides, storage when functioning year-round)
3) media production company specializing in instructional videos on alternative energy construction and "green" agriculture and entertainment with ecological messages.
