Post subject:  Greetings from the Canadian Prairies

Hello all,

Sheepskin here. Saw this site a while ago, found it in my favourites today and thought I'd join.

I live on the windswept Canadian prairie with lots of animals to keep me busy.

I love a good debate. That's why I joined.

I am AGAINST animal rights, but for animal welfare. I am omnivorous, and I believe animals were put here for our use, but not for us to abuse.

I don't know what else to say. I guess I'll meet you all in one of the forums.

Looks like you have one person who is close geographically and in attitude regarding animals... live in Saskatchewan and want to raise small animals as a business so I can provide a better life for them then current methods before being sold as pets (who are often abused) or sold as frozen reptile food or sold to laboratories... I cannot stop those activities but can provide the best possible life for them to grow up in and best genetics and body health to most enjoy their life even after sale. On a different front, I hope to train the animals via computers so I can breed to maximize how trainable they are and so pets are more likely to be family pets instead of just a living display who is lonely and scared of being handled. I can then use the "Bambi effect" to change people's views of animals by helping to make films starring animals.
