Hello to all. I am new to this forum. Most of my activities are with
feral cats. There are several nonprofit groups here in town who work with cat rescue and adoption, and there are individuals who are not part of any "group", we have no funding for our work, except for our own spare cash. There are several people here who work with feral cat colonies. I assist in feeding a colony on the edge of town.
Right now I have 7 cats, 2 of whom were abused ferals, 2 declawed too early and have a biting problem, one blind cat and one with cancer. There is a an injured feral who lives in the yard, I cannot seem to trap him again. There are two in the garage that I am trying to adopt out. All my cats are spayed, vaccinated, and (when space, time and money permit) socialized.
I have had cats all my life. I like dogs too, my "favorite" is the Greyhound, and I wish I had a fence around my yard.
Much of my time is spent taking care of my own cats; and, trying to make my little corner of the world a little bit better place for ferals and strays; and, trying to convince people to spay their pets, and not throw the cats out like trash when they move to a new apartment.
If there are any other feral cat workers here, I would like to hear from you.
Thank you,
Chelle
