I am single and have two rescue dogs, two rescue rabbits and one hamster. I am an artist and am an animal rights campaigner.I took early retirement as a nurse. I hope there is plenty of you who share my interest in animal rights!?.

:) Welcome Sophie. There are a few hear who share you point of view. I do. And quite a few that don't. It's more of a debate website of pro-animal versus anti-animal folks. There is another website has this debate in a separate section, so if you feel like debating the anti-animal people you can. And if you want to have discussions with like minded individuals you can do that. It's the best of both worlds.

Animal rights versus animal welfare would be the more accurate comparison.

Just seen on our TV that there is only 20,000 orangatans left in this world. What the hell are we doing?. Borneo destroys vast swathes of forest for palm oil production and the morons over there are shooting any orangatans that cross their path into the plantation and keeping any babies they find in cages as pets!. I despair!!.

sophiesmum...

First off, welcome! Second, please feel free to post opinions, news stories, etc, but not in the intro area. We want to keep debate out of this specific area of our forum so we can just focus on welcoming people and not getting into debate too much at this point.

Thanks, and again, welcome!

Sorry if I barked too loudly... it really isn't a big deal. I really look forward to your participation here.
