God, Iowa, you're as sick as mothy, bringing up old topics all the time.
The stupid man was killed by running at a dangerous machine. The so-called "rear rotor" was NOT a rotor at all but the pusher propeller.
Gruesome accidents are a sick thing to be fascinated with.
I am glad that I never killed anyone with my helicopter rotors or airplane propellers. One guy in our unit did, though.
It is the responsibility of people around aircraft to stay clear of rotors and props. It is also partially the responsibility of the pilot, at least as far as controlling that the rotors or propellers do not hit anyone during landing and takeoff or ground maneuvering.
The guy was irate because the gyro people interfered with the hunt. The pilot should not have interfered with a sanctioned hunt and probably broke some laws. When he saw the person approaching he should have waved and yelled the danger.
The pusher prop at idle is going faster than 200 mph tip velocity, and is a blur to the naked eye.
If he had just landed to fuel up at an airport, his engine should have been shut down and electrical system turned off before refueling.

My take was since it's a on-going case, it wasn't quite a 'old' thread. Or perhaps it was; but since it was 'on-going' I felt it worth adding to.

Look on the brightside. At least the article didn't include video of the incident. (Waves to GRace)
