Ever since I saw the old musical movie "Dr Doolittle" (not the Eddie Murphy versions) when I was about 4 (lets see, that would be 1968 - about 40 years ago) I have been obsessed with the idea that animals can likely learn to talk if only we used the right form of language (including verbal, visual, touch and maybe even smell). My hobbies all revolve around that. I love training small animals to do tricks (including mice and insects and even snails). I got into animation for the purpose of instilling in the minds of the general public the idea that maybe, animals can talk. Combining these two interests, I decided to get into raising small animals as animal actors (and selling pets to pay for the facilities to house the animal actors). After some disastrous viral and bacterial epidemics in some of my stock rodents and extended power failures in the severe Canadian prairies, I decided I needed to power my facilities with alternate energy so power failures would not affect my operation and to have sterilized air and water for the animals and grow my own animal foods to prevent diseases from wild rodents from threatening my stock. It is not only animals I am interested in communicating with, I am also interested in artificial intelligence computer programming. This added interest and new research into Richardson Ground Squirrels and Gunnison Prairie Dogs showing those two species have a complex verbal language lead me to the idea of trying to get rodents to communicate verbally with an artificial intelligence program to encourage and refine their verbal communication skills (if they have any). Added to this is the idea that people using internet text chat and the artificial intelligence program as an interpreter to and from the animal's verbal language, thousands of people around the world can try talking to a real animal over the internet... and maybe even buy that animal as a pet (if within reasonable shipping range).
