This picture got me thinking... even among primates, humans have a unique nose design. Most animal noses have nostrils going off to each side so the animal can shove it's nose right up against what ever it is smelling and get a good stereo smell going to pinpoint a smell location. Human nostrils are purposefully pointing downward and our nose comes to a curious point with a "drip point" on it much like on teapot spouts. I figure it must be an adaptation for heavy face sweat so we do not get sweat in our nostrils while running hard. One more piece of evidence I think for humans being specifically designed for running hard and long. Why would we need to run long and hard? I doubt it is to escape predators but it is very effective at running small animals down to exhaustion and catching them. So, we have hands for eating berries and nuts and feet and face design perfect for out-running any small critter.
