More irony is that GM crops hold the key to higher yields needed to feed their overpopulation, yet in the end, with aquifer depletion, and climate fluctuation, and the post peak oil effects, and even more mouths to feed, it will not be enough.............

I don't think you need worry about Monsanto feeding the billions. They aren't actually too interested in doing that although it is the propoganda point so many have come to believe. They are a huge corporation and they are responsible to themselves and their stakeholders. Their bottom line is profit.

I guess there is nothing wrong with GMO as long as the modification made is just the alteration of the genes. The only thing that is not good is the mixing of chemical elements to the GMOs for this may harm the human beings that will intake the object. I also believe that God is more intelligent than any of us that HE made everything perfectly according to plan. So we do not need to modify God’s creation furthermore for it is already in perfect shape.

No Fos, it was not the 40's and 50's.

In fact, it was. There simply wasn't the precision of DNA manipulation like today, so blasts of radiation were used and results random.

What are your views on that ?

'Bout the same really--despite substantiated evidence that GMO's don't warrant the concern they seem to get, GMOphobia remains.
