I so live painting ... not. We were lucky to have plans the weekend the younger son had the "painting party" for their new house. It looks really good even without my help.

Pizza for dinner last night ... Ginny helped with the older son's wedding invitations while I did the rounds of the hardware stores looking for a replacement temperature control system for my shower and a lawnmower for the younger son.

Mexican for Lunch/dinner today. Late for luch and early for dinner, but too darned hot for two meals. I had several glasses of sweet tea and not much food since I did the yard work this morning before the triple digit thermometer readings.

It was hot here too, somewhere in the 90's. plenty hot for me.
Last minute family dinner tonight at our house, once I found out we had family in from out of town, I thought it would be nice to get together
Burgers, BBQ pork roast, chips, dips, grilled and fresh veggies. Dessert was rhubarb, apple, blueberry sauce on pound cake with ice cream, whipped cream, and pecans on top. Lots of goodies from the garden these days :), love it~~
yum. why are last minute gatherings usually the funnest?

Maybe there is less time for anticipation and the drama that often accompanies it. The meal sounded great!!!

Beans on toast or a Banana sandwich. Maybes today I will have nothing. Abstinence can be the void the soul seeks for progress, without the bombardment of food that satisfies it to the contentment it no longer wishes to attain to a higher plane or seek new pastures.

I get quite the response when I order a pizza. Veggie no cheese and don't slice it.

For those who haven't tried them, Mickey D's fish sammiches are actually pretty good. You can even pick one up in double form at some locations during Lent. Don't get me wrong. The fish sammiches don't hold a candle to their burgers. I don't know how you pull that one off Wayne. :-k

The wife wanted the fish, but I changed my mind and went for the Angus when I got there ... and had to wait while they extracted the car in front of me from the barrier poles that prevent people from hitting the building. They may be plastic coated but they will do a number on a Range Rover driven into them at an angle so the side catches on them.

Picking up milk, eggs, and bread on the way home. Will probably nab some dinner too but have no idea what it will be. Hamburger Helper is sounding pretty nice though.

Been doing some solid breakfasts every morning since school started. Always have some eggs of some sort, some toast, fruit preserves, and even cereal thrown in. Been missing a meat. Indeed, I'll pick up some bacon too.

Last night, Thursday, was roasted chicken, broccoli and herbed brown rice and quinoa (not sure i I spelled that right...)
Very tasty. I washed it down with a Michelob Ultra.
