So the idea is to keep ATF agents employed. Why can't they enforce laws that really hurt people with lack of jobs, taxpayer debt and suppressed wages to the middle and lower class for the past 30 years? Like the felony violations of Title8USC1324iv and Title8USC1325, collect the fines and deport the illegals to help Americans get back to work, reduce the National Debt, and lower the population. It seems it would be a win-win scenario for keeping the agents busy and helping the country environmentally and economically. Legalize and tax the drugs, collecting more money and spending less on prisons. Another win-win scenario. Educate the people so they are less likely to become ruined addicts, and that includes education on tobacco, alcohol, and gambling which ruin so many lives each year. Use the money saved on prisons to have treatment and kick the habit help. I had to have the help of the VA to quit tobacco the 9th time trying. It took group therapy, wellbutrin a week before the quit date, nicotine patches and gum used properly, and using tricks like making a butt bottle to sniff when the urge to smoke hit. That was 4-4-04. A friend just died from the effects of smoking and drinking causing cancer, and his brother who told me just now also has been diagnosed with another strain of esophageal cancer. My AA meetings are full of people who had their lives variously ruined but are doing well now. I quit booze 6-14-96. I never got hooked on gambling but could feel the tug. To me, victimless crime laws are bad and should be removed, while crimes with victims like the ones numbered above should be well enforced and the victims compensated. Wage suppression from the "ripple effect" of illegal immigration cost me nearly $400,000. The bad laws of affirmative action's reverse discrimination cost me even more in a ruined career. I think the laws should be reviewed by we the people and those bad laws thrown out, and the laws that matter to us get enforced as they were supposed to be when made. Without any big money special interests allowed to be involved in any way.
