The problem with that quote is that it is a construct that deals in abstracts where it only holds true upon certain occassions. If a smart man told a stupid man that water is wet or that shirt is black, I think most would agree that the reports would not be suspect.

If someone is intentionally inaccurate (knowing the truth but deliberately conveying it otherwise), that would be a lie. If someone believes something to be the truth, but are mistaken about it, that doesn't mean they're lying.

If someone is intentionally inaccurate (knowing the truth but deliberately conveying it otherwise), that would be a lie. If someone believes something to be the truth, but are mistaken about it, that doesn't mean they're lying.


Grace, I have to give you credit for not just re-posting my first post with this ... I do not know if I could have resisted such a straight line if you had not already given the answer. :lol:
