...or curricula that simply do not have sufficient basis in science...or maybe they're more a fan of science that wouldn't otherwise know what to do with it if it crawled up a sensitive orifice...or maybe they do discount science in favor of belief which, of course, must necessarily be so bad. What nerve they must have using their own brain as they see fit. We should cram science down their throat the way my grandmother did religion with me. That always works. 8-[

A lack of scientific understanding is not "why we have so many problems". It's person/group A feeling/believing/thinking/reasoning that everyone else should be more like person/group A.

Unfortunately there is no science of how far we should pursue science beyond a certain point. The atom bomb would be a case in point.

You think we tend to discover things before we're ready for them?

Statistically, this should be true along with the idea we discover things for which we have been ready for some time.

Personally, I am ready for those flying cars I was promised, but I wonder about those drivers who cannot merge into traffic now with only a two dimensional and speed variation.

Believe it or not, I'm working on something that just might make that happen. The design is extremely simple and could be adapted to work on vehicles, especially those with 4wd. The "tires" might be inordinately larger than the fender wells though.

It's similar to the devices listed here...
