I used to be acquainted with a Zen community that was for a period of time vegan. Talking to one of its members he told me that the vegan women had an unusual number of miscarriages so they went to a dietician and he told them they needed to incorporate some dairy into their diet if they wanted to stay off meat. Apparently that solved the problem. |
