Yesterday was a great day!!!! Things were getting a bit dull around here with no cows since we shipped the steers off to their destinations so the wife and I went to a farm auction and found 2 of the cutest heifers around. This is Belle, a Jersey/Holstein cross. She's about 1 month old. My wife bought her. And this is Lady, some would call her a Brindle. About 4 months old. I knew I was going to get her the moment I saw her even though I'm mostly a Holstein guy. |

So I finally got a current picture of my two nephews (the non feathered kind) Aren't they adorable? I'll have to look for their baby pictures in a bit. Theres an interesting story to how they came to be part of the family. Their mama cat was "dumped" at our house back in San Diego.. some lady drove up and asked my kids if we had orange cats.. and of course the kids said yes. Anyway, turned out to not be our cat and it was pregnant on top of everything! Beautiful cat that was very loving.. we named her Butterscotch. She had 6 kittens a couple weeks later. Butterscotch and 4 of the kittens got wonderful homes and my sister kept the two dark orange ones. They're quite a handful and always getting into trouble so they are named Thing1 and Thing2. Don't ask me how to tell them apart! |

Here's Gracie, one of my poor abused research pigs- she's waiting for a grape. |
