Maybe it's just the people I know, but it seems a lot of people are really reluctant to try new foods. For instance yesterday, we have latkes and matzo ball soup for Easter. My cousin refused to try them because they were "different" and "Jewish". Oh well.. just means more for me. YUM!

In the past I've tried to get people to try tofu, tofu ice cream, veggie burgers, soy products, etc. but ONLY when they bring up the subject.. ya' know like when I'm eating a toffuti cutie and they ask about it, I'll offer them one and they refuse to try it. "Eww, it's going to taste gross" and such.

Do you try new foods?

I do to an extent. I don't try things with seafood in them (because seafood doesn't agree with me) but I do try new and different things when offered.

I try all sorts of stuff. This past weekend I had my first whole grilled squid. Yummy.

Whole grilled squid? Like they pulled it out of the water and tossed in on the grill without cutting on it?

I love trying new foods. I'll try just about anything. There's a few foods out there that I see no point in eating.

Grilled squid is DELICIOUS. Especially from Benihanna. I usually order the Mariner's Delight with grilled squid, grilled shrimp and scallops hibachi style. hmmmmm.

I am hesitant to try new foods and usually do not. I cringe at anything dietetic, low fat, low salt, fake milk, tofu and the like. At this point in my life, I have tried some weird stuff - pigeon, horse, liver (ugh), chick peas, sweet potatos (eww), sour cream (argh). There are foods I haven't tried, nor will I ever - meats - tongue, chicken feet, pigs feet, sheep's eye, tripe, calves brain, kidney, moth balls, chicken fingers (ugh).

Sweet potatos and sour cream aren't weird foods, and they are both quite tasty to me.

Moth balls? I didn't realize that was something edible. Is that different from the little white chemical things you put in your closet?

You might know them as rocky mountain oysters.

True enough... I think I'd almost rather eat seafood though.

I'll take either. I'd hate to have to avoid seafood. It's one of my favorites.

Boy the moths must be a lot bigger where Grace lives.

I like sweet breads. Fed them to the kids once, told them they were like McNuggets, lol.
