"Leaked documents confirm the worst. 
Phil Aroneanu - 350.org
To Me
Saturday at 7:44 PM
Friends,
A confession: I hesitated to even send this email.

The thing I’m writing about today -- a trade agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP -- is a bit outside 350.org's wheelhouse. When it came down to it though, I couldn’t NOT send this email, since the TPP is shaping up to be the worst kind of corporate power grab.

This week, Wikileaks released newly leaked documents that confirm the worst: the United States' TPP negotiating team is walking away from supporting strong environmental safeguards. Without protections for land use, logging, and climate pollution, the TPP has gone from a bad deal to a disastrous one. It's time to take action:

Click here to tell your Members of Congress to reject the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
http//www.350.org

The TPP is an expansive, highly secretive international free trade agreement. It's being negotiated by delegates from twelve Pacific Rim countries, including the United States, along with hundreds of industry leaders. Elected officials, civil society, and the press have largely been shut out of negotiations, but these leaked documents reveal disturbing provisions.

The TPP would empower corporations to directly sue governments over laws and policies that they claim reduce their profits. Legislation designed to address climate change, curb fossil fuel expansion, and reduce air pollution could all be subject to attack as a result of the TPP.

Right now, our best chance to stop this train wreck is to stop Congress from giving “fast-track” authority to President Obama, allowing him to push the agreement through without a public debate.

Click here to tell your Congressional representatives to reject “fast track” and the Trans-Pacific Partnership. http//www.350.org

In Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and here in the U.S., citizens have taken to the streets in mass protest. Last year, 130 members of Congress voiced concerns about the TPP, and opposition is growing now that a fast-track bill has been introduced in the Senate. Let's make sure those Senators and Representaives who may be on the fence get our message loud and clear:

We oppose the "fast-track" bill, and we reject the TPP.}}SO SHOULD EVERYONE{{

Any trade agreement that gives corporations unfettered power is a bad one, but a trade agreement like this would be a disaster for people and the planet.

Onward,
Phil"

I signed. Anything to help stop this madness and reverse the other foolish free trade garbage. Go all local with gardens and alternative power, and reduce emissions 90% in 9 years, for your progeny. :mrgreen: No one else?? WTF??

FIGHT TPP!
"We oppose the "fast-track" bill, and we reject the TPP."}}SO SHOULD EVERYONE{{

Then this sad story from a state I used to teach flying in;
http://bismarcktribune.com/bakken/north ... f887a.html

and this from today;
Anyone who calls our immigration system broken is an apologist for overpopulation. We don't need or want it, and consider the last 28 years to be a de facto invasion from Mexico and Abrogation of Treaty. It is a war for the USA, here in the USA and on our borders and in our ports. A war that has claimed up to 25 American lives per day for these 28 years. A war in which there are a million American traitors, especially in power, both corporate AND GOVERNMENT, LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL. Time to let them know who pays their excessive salaries, and to do the Will of the People and stop immigration. Deport the 30+ million illegals, and fine their felony encouragers to the full extent of the law ($5K for each illegal for each person). The illegals also have to clean up the border they have trashed, before they go, too. We could sure use the $150,000,160,000,000,000!!! Yes, that is at least what is owed, and even if we collect 1/1000th of it, it is still more than eight times the National Debt!!! Any good citizen should be able to citizen's arrest and collect a bounty on all violators, with special citizen courts to help straighten out the mess.
What a thought, to actually care about this country!
Let alone care about Earth and our precious biosphere;

People definitely need to change religions, cultures, and morals, along with behaviors like over-breeding for the conditions present, depleting resources faster than they are replenished naturally or artificially, and polluting faster than the natural system can absorb it, even with artificial help. Greed must be stopped because it is criminal to the people and the biosphere. The average intelligence of humans that is going down with the tendency of the lowest spectrum to over-breed the most, making it so they do not understand enough, and have lost the ability of foresight.
"The TPP is huge: It covers 40% of the global economy and will overwrite national laws affecting people around the world.3

The worst of the TPP threatens everything we care about: democracy, jobs, health, the environment, and the Internet. That's why decision-makers are meeting in Asia under extreme secrecy and pushing 'Fast Track' laws to cement the plan into place.

This is no way to make decisions in the 21st century. We need to raise a loud global call to expose this "

"This is urgent. An Internet censorship plan is being finalized in secret meetings right now. We need all hands on deck at this crucial moment. Click HERE to learn more and speak up.

{b]Here’s the situation: Obama himself is in secretive meetings with key political figures and lobbyists in Asia to lock the Trans-Pacific Partnership’s (TPP) Internet censorship plan into place. [/b](UnConstitutional Abuse of power)

We know from leaked documents that this secretive plan will censor your use of the Internet and strip away your rights.[1] If finalized, this plan would force ISPs to act as “Internet Police” monitoring our Internet use, censoring content, and removing whole websites.[2] "

178 Groups Demand Answers About TTIP’s Climate Impact
Brandon Baker | May 14, 2014 3:03 pm | Comments

"Will the U.S. and Europe consider the climate and environment during their next round of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations? Nearly 200 civil society organizations hope so, and wrote about their concerns in a letter to trade representatives from the U.S. and Europe.

The Center for International Environmental Law led the group of 178 organizations to request answers regarding the potential of an agreement weakening various protections for the environment, health and consumers in order to expedite the passage of an international trade agreement."

Remember this part; "We have a duty to fight the corrupt political/industrial/corporate complex of corruption in the land, the rampant invasion, and the systematic ruin of America by foreign influences religious (or rather, kill cult) and greedy economics."
It would be very good to, at the same time, reduce emissions 10% per year (9 yrs.)and population 5% per year (16 years). Everywhere, USA included.
The corrupt political corporate alliances are the ones holding back progress with reducing both population and emissions enough to avoid future extreme misery to the survivors.
The US had a duty to lead the world with going sustainable, but NO! The powers that be are cutting per capita emissions while increasing population even farther into overshoot, negating all gains. Certainly a bad example.
The eventual globalist view should have started with our country going to sustainable and reducing emissions enough in time to prevent thermageddon. To get to sustainable is a painful process.

I, too, once conjectured about a Star Trek type future of one world at sustainable. People are so different and generally a lot less intelligent and educated as many of us who can understand and do live sustainably. Then there are simple tribes who tread lightly on the land. Like a grouping of different, but too close, different species.
The main thing is to reduce emissions enough in time to prevent the Global Terminal Extinction Event(s). The US should lead the way by reducing population and emissions. Then other countries until emissions are 10% of 2000 level or less and within a decade to 15 years max.
Eventually, as people are recovering from the population crash and near destruction of the biosphere, they can come back together as one sustainable global community---maybe next interglacial,-----if we get one.

More articles on the screw job us real Americans(my great grand parents were born here) are getting;
"Environmentalists have long recognized the impact of human population growth on the environment. Both common sense and a large body of research make clear that the number of people living in a given land area has significant implications for the environment.

This fact does not mean that human beings are plague on the land. Nor does it mean that per capita consumption of resources does not matter.

What it does mean is that a sound approach to protecting the environment nationally or internationally must recognize the importance of population size and growth.

As this paper shows, in many cases per capita reductions in resource use or environmental impact are offset, sometimes entirely, by population increase. Choosing to ignore the implications of population for the environment in the United States will make it much more difficult to effectively protect it.

This paper also demonstrates the importance of population growth to the environment, particularly in the United States. Since the early 1970s American women have chosen to have about two children on average — roughly the number necessary to maintain the size of the U.S. population. However, federal immigration programs have added significantly to the American population by bringing in over a million legal immigrants annually and tolerating widespread illegal immigration.

Of course, immigrants and their descendants are not fundamentally different from natives in their environmental impact. But legal immigration levels are set by elected officials, as is the level of effort devoted to controlling illegal immigration. High levels of immigration have added significantly to the number of human beings living in the United States, and this has environmental consequences. "
http://www.cairco.org/issues/immigratio ... nvironment

and the numbers game ?? old wisdom never heeded..... "E/The Environmental Magazine,
January/February, 2004

There's a minefield in the American environmental movement, and its name is population. Because negotiating that minefield is so dangerous, many environmental groups and leaders have stopped trying to cross it. But to ignore population as a central issue while talking freely about sprawl, air and water pollution, loss of biodiversity, agricultural land and animal habitat, global warming and many other crucial environmental issues is to deny reality.

Population and - in particular - immigration are never easy topics. At least in the U.S., population growth is closely tied to immigration. If you subtracted post-1990 immigration, the U.S. would have a population around 310 million in 2050; with current immigration, the Census Bureau says it could be 438 million. The population could double by 2100, with two-thirds of that growth attributed to immigration.

Some of the consequences of our rapid growth: With U.S. population growing by three million a year, we lose two acres of farmland every minute, according to the American Farmland Trust. Traffic congestion costs drivers $78 billion a year, says the Road Information Project. A serious water shortage is developing nationwide, with aquifers once considered inexhaustible drying up. Syndicated columnist Lou Dobbs argues that immigration-fueled population growth is putting a "heavy burden" on our abundant natural resources, and that at the present rate the U.S. won't be exporting food at all by 2025.

Some of these problems feed on each other. Population growth increases U.S. greenhouse gas production, which in turn makes existing crises more acute. For instance, one study suggests that most of the entire western United States - already severely water-challenged - could experience a 40 to 76 percent drop in precipitation levels because of climate change.
The U.S. experience is reflected internationally."
http://www.cairco.org/issues/numbers-ga ... nvironment
Well, nothing in the US has gotten better in the past 11 years. What I have seen since 1980 is the deterioration of my country, and our world.

"Congress is about to grant President Obama broad new negotiation power, which could lead to major increases in foreign workers and even a loss of U.S. sovereignty over immigration policy.

Starting today, the Senate Finance Committee begins voting to grant Fast-Track authority to President Obama, which would surrender to him authority to shape international trade agreements -- including immigration law! A vote before the full Senate could come as early as next week. Obama wants this Fast-Track authority to induce Congress to accept his Trans-Pacific Partnership, now in final secret negotiations with 9 nations, including Mexico, Malaysia... and even Vietnam.

Technically, the Partnership is not a treaty: the elite in Washington know they could never pass such a treaty. And Fast-Track authority wouldn't mean the Partnership is enacted into law -- yet. But Fast-Track Authority would mean the resulting trade agreements couldn't be amended or filibustered, making them virtually unstoppable.

The administration has been trying to slip this deal into law, but the only assurance the American people have from President Obama is "trust me."

"As the Senate considers Trade Promotion Authority [Fast-Track], I write to call your attention to the inclusion of provisions dealing with immigration law...

"The real danger here is that before the ink is dry and at any time during the life of the TPS, any President can negotiate changes to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and any other new agreement, and agree to changes in our immigration laws...

"Trade agreements are not the appropriate vehicle for enacting immigration laws. Such agreements have a lasting impact and cannot be amended or corrected by legislation."

-- U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL),
April 20 letter to Senate colleagues

A decade ago, Congress gave Trade Promotion Authority to President George W. Bush. He used that authority to make a deal to accept thousands of immigrants per year from Singapore, a nation of a just a few million residents.

The Senate was so outraged that it passed a resolution never again to allow trade agreements to rewrite immigration law..

"[F]ast track authority takes away Congress' ability to subject immigration proposals to the debate and amendment process so vital to creating sound immigration law.

--2003 Letter from
then-House Judiciary Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner
and Ranking Minority Member John Conyers.

Yet here they are about to give President Obama the same authority to negotiate with countries with hundreds of millions of workers. The U.S. Trade Representative's web site already refers to a chapter on "temporary" entry for more foreign workers.

Over the past decade, conservatives and progressives have fought giving such broad powers to the President. Lately, Obama has been wheeling and dealing to get the votes of Democrats who have been friendly to unions, and Republicans who believe trade agreements will solve everything. But what do the American workers get when their Congress sells off America's birthright?

We've seen a surge in new foreign workers in America in the past decade, but little growth in jobs; there has been two new immigrant workers for every new job created in America since 2001.

Yet it appears the Trans-Pacific Partnership will guarantee that a certain number of U.S. jobs go to citizens of foreign countries, long after President Obama leaves office.

It's not as if Congress is unaware that American workers would be put out of work. Senators like Ron Wyden (D-OR) are conditioning their support on new government programs for those who lose their jobs as a result of the agreement.

Shouldn't Congress condition its support on the President agreeing not to import low-wage workers to take U.S. jobs? Or better yet -- on rescinding his illegal amnesty to millions and millions of illegal aliens?

Here's what we're doing to block this bill:

1)
NumbersUSA has informed every Member of Congress that a vote for Fast-Track authority will be graded by our immigration report cards. Voting for Fast-Track will lower a Congressman's grade.

2)
You may have already seen that we're mobilizing our members to contact their Congressmen, using our toll-free phone lines and free, one-step faxing system.

3)
Our Capitol Hill team is working with our allies on the Hill, doing everything to defeat Fast-Track."

As far as I am concerned, it is high treason. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

from http://www.350.org
"Friends,

Now the fight against the TPP really begins.

Last week, the US Senate approved legislation that would fast-track approval of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The real fight is in the House of Representatives though, and that's just getting going.

We always knew the Senate was likely to approve the TPP and fast track, but the vote was closer than anyone expected -- which means that the TPP's proponents are losing steam exactly when they need to be gathering momentum.

The fight in the House will be tough. There are many wealthy, powerful people -- including the fossil fuel industry -- pushing the TPP, and this will be a real test of the power of organized people against organized money.

There is a lot of misinformation going around about the Trans-Pacific Partnership, so as we begin this debate I wanted to send a few crucial myth-busting articles that I think explain what you need to know about this fight moving forward:

"Senate Vote Is a Victory for Obama on Trade, but a Tougher Test Awaits," New York Times -- an analysis of the political landscape after the Senate vote.

"The 10 biggest lies you’ve been told about the Trans-Pacific Partnership," Salon.com -- a great takedown of the top 10 pro-TPP talking points circulating online.

"TPP: Corporate 'Tribunals' Bad for People, Environment & Climate Justice," DailyKos -- this is a detailed explanation of all the ways the TPP threatens our climate.

"TPP is in trouble, thanks to public interest," Al Jazeera -- a helpful explanation of the way that public opposition is slowing the TPP.

Right now Congress is on recess. When the House returns next week, we'll have our work cut out for us to stop this deal. But I think (I think), with some perseverance, and some willingness to jump into action at a moment's notice, we can do it.

Get ready for a rumble,

Jason"

Dishonesty, secrecy, ramming things through without even reading them, our corporate oligarchy is killing us.
"The Senate passed the TPA last month, so it is up to the House to put the brakes on Obama’s unilateral power. The House could vote as early as Friday on fast-track, but may head into next week. By all counts, it’s going to be a very tight vote—and may not pass. It remains to be seen what will happen in light of leaks about things like the immigration provisions of TiSA—which deals with 24 separate parties, mostly different nations but also the European Union. It is focused on increasing the free flow of services worldwide—and with that, comes labor. Labor means immigration and guestworkers.

“This Trade and Services Agreement is specifically mentioned in TPA as being covered by fast-track authority, so why would Congress be passing a Trade Promotion Authority Act that covers this agreement, if the U.S. weren’t intended to be a party to this agreement – so at the very least, there should be specific places where the U.S. exempts itself from these provisions and there are not,” explained Jenks.

She emphasized that this is a draft, but at this point “certainly the implication is that the U.S. intends to be a party to all or some of the provisions of this agreement. There is nothing in there that says otherwise, and there is no question in my mind that some of the provisions in this Trade and Services Agreement would require the United States to change its immigration laws.”

In 2003, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution that said no immigration provision should be in trade agreements – and in fact, former Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) voted for this resolution.

The existence of these 10 pages is in clear violation of that earlier unanimous decision, and also in violation of the statements made by the U.S. Trade Representative."
