$4,000?! I don't know about Donnie, but I think that's overpriced by about 5 grand.

I am with you on that one Archer. No way those would be hanging in my den. I notice the only human form in the collection is one human skull. Why do I get a feeling that Sea Shepherd feels that is the ultimate goal for their org.

Sticker shock..

I like the first three paintings. If they turned those into posters they could make a heck of a lot more money. I'd love to have that Eternity II as a poster..

Because it's probably true.

Forget all the sniping, that "art" would never sell in any real gallery. There are any number of reasons why it is a mess.

Yeah, I know... everyone's a critic.

Actually.. I think it'd do pretty well. There is some sort of "message" and cause behind it.. and people tend to go for that sort of thing. The first grouping would probably do the best.. it kind of reminds me of another artist (the name escapes me.. he does a lot of underwater scenes) but it has sort of a tranquil, serene thing going on. That and a lot of people are into ocean, fish, underwater things it seems. The second group is different, although rather busy with a bit much going on. The use of color and pattern is nice. Those paintings would go nice on a plain white wall or on a darker colored wall (black, purple, blue..). I wonder if the guy who did this set writes.

I'm not an art expert though, far from.

Often his subject matter is designed to elicit a response of the viewer's social and environmental conscience and was therefore honored when his painting was chosen to be the cover of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's Christmas card in 2000.

No wonder you don't *get* it. And I bet you didn't get a Christmas card either.

Actually I did get it Grace and that is why I noted that the only sign of humanity was a human skull set in the idyllic sequences.

There are many, many more body parts than just the human skull. The entire human might be there actually.
