Err.. does the fact that some of us recycle, use alternative methods of transportation when possible, use biodegradable items, compost, and other things that have an impact on the enviroment not count for anything? Do we have to post and show off how we help out the enviroment in order to post here? I must've missed that in the rules.

Ashamed? Hardly.. I'd bemore ashamed if I came down on a bunch of people without bothering to check and see exactly what they do for the enviroment, what organizations they donate too, and so forth just because they posted in a fun thread.

Because clearly, what we need in the environmental movement is more judgementalism. You are definitely doing your part to help win the hearts and minds of the masses... keep up the good work! That tactic has done wonders for the Catholic Church and should continue to do well for the environmental movement. "You are all damned to hell, now here's how you get your ticket out..." Perhaps you should do an ecological footprint analysis and then burn anyone at the stake who has a greater footprint than you! Or even better, perhaps you could travel the world in a biodiesel vehicle and convert all that you come in contact with. If anyone refuses to accept The Word then kill them! You'd get lots of converts and control the world's population at the same time!

Oh good grief! ](*,) I get so disheartened when I see such strident examples of everything that is wrong in the environmental movement. There really are some of us who try to lead by example WITHOUT bashing others over the head with it (even though I do love to gloat about my 55+ mpg hybrid at the very hint of talking to someone who drives an SUV).

Seriously, if you want to change society's behavior patterns, learn about some more effective ways of doing it. Telling people how much they suck is usually not the best way to make friends and influence people. :roll:

You're right.. we do suck. We suck so much we're a big black hole.. which would explain why nobody can get away and eventually they're sucked in and become one of us.. oooh, that almost sounds like a Star Trek thing with Borg and stuff. :lol:

id bet a dollar to your dime that i have done more for the environment over the last two years than you have your entire life. you should be ashamed of yourself.

Wow ... maybe an EarthSHIP ... the heated garage seems like it might be an energy luxury though.

You forget that we're discussing ideals in this thread. Ideally you'd have a great expanse of farmland and a vehicle that has an excess of speed -- and your ideals are not environmentally friendly.

Never did I say that people sucked, and you shouldn't get too defensive over what I have said, it is just something to think about. Most of the counter-arguments expressed were strawmen and needless to say, excessive. Don't forget recyclable tampons.

nope i said i'd want a particular car. i already have land. i do farm it....small garden for personal use and a farmed a prarie restoration on it, as well as food plots for animals. whats not environmemtally friendly about that? i took land that was elclusively farmed and turned 90% of it back to its natural state. :roll:

Then there is nothing wrong. Please continue. I don't want to seem angsty, but I did see pictures of muscle cars and other sports cars -- who uses their power, anyway? What's the purpose of such a vehicle?
