Well, that was not that exciting, but a deal is a deal. We placed an ad for a technician for which we narrowed the choice between two guys and a "girl" named "Susan". When the interviews came around the best candidate backed out because he had a job. The other guy and "Susan" came in for their interviews. The guy was a good fit and interviewed well. "Susan" came in last and was a surprise since it was a guy in a dress. Now we have had a couple of openly gay employees and one who was openly bi so we have some experience with being tolerant of alternative lifestyles but none of us were prepared for this aspect. It took quite a bit to get past the initial shock since there was no indication of the "difference" in the phone interview. The guy was still the better choice but "Susan" would have been really interesting to have on board just to work out all of the logistics. I can honestly say that was the biggest surprise I have had in the work force, including the girl who got too comfortable with our understanding and talked about her girlfriend attacking her when she came in the door and the one legged friend that she had before.
Never a dull moment especially with a "born again woman" working here who did not judge except when she talked to anyone else ....

I had to draw the line with her "complaints" when she thought some of the women were not wearing underwear to work and I REFUSED to check ... she finally had to move on before someone (me at times) was going to explain how hypocritical she was with her own stories of how she "bent her own rules" when it suited her.
Yeah well.. I had to keep it clean.
Your Susan sounds like a "gal" named Maria I worked with in San Diego. Except after she had the sex change she got tired of being a woman.. opp,s kind of too late for that.
