Happy Belated Father's Day to all the dads here.

I almost forgot Father's day was Sunday. Thankfully I was given a not so subtle reminder by mom.

My dad is hard to shop for now.. used to be I'd get him a ton of jelly beans, my oldest sister would get him some fudge, and the middle sibling would get him some chocolate covered mints. We had it in the bag man.. didn't even need to think about what to get him then! Now it's hard as heck because food stuff is out.

So I did the best I could.. I bought him a Blue Collar comedy dvd, a soft butotn down shirt (with a pocket!), a pair of slippers, a puzzle, and some tool thingy that looked interesting (I think it's a ratchet.. but it could be something else ) and made clicky noises. The kids got him a 3 in 1 table thing and a screwdriver set, a flashlight that has a bazillion candle power, and an extension cord that winds itself up (they let me go to Home Depot by myself ).

Nothing. My dad was mad at me for something yesterday and shut off the phone so I couldn't get online or call anyone. :x I don't think I even said happy fathers day.

You did pretty good. The DVD alone would have been good enough for me.

I didn't get my dad anything. I made my presence at their house. That's more than usual. Besides, his birthday was last week, so I'm all gifted out.

 As the gals at work always tell me, I'm a good daughter. They just don't know I'm making up for how horrible I was in my teen years still.

Is that like combining Christmas and birthday gifts for kids born around Christmas day?

 Made your presence.

Yep. When I have kids, I'm going to shoot for Christmas so I can do just that.

You don't know the half of it. I'm going to have about 6 of them, and I'll space them out enough so that once the first one hits about 7 or 8, I won't ever have to do yard work or other chores again. :D Yes, kids can be quite the blessing, so I'm told. I can see why. 8)

Gosh.. if you had them every leap year that would work our great for you. Birthday presents once every four years instead of every year. :D

Kids do chores and yard work?! I think my kids are defective. :D
