Had this discussion on a bird board a while ago and again today at work.
What are some of your nicknames given to you by friends and family and why did they give you them?

My most favorite nickname is Amb. It's how I sign e-mails and such.. I forget who gave it to me because I've been called that all my life.

The younger kids in the family call me Mamber (because they can't pronounce my name..) that has stuck and pretty much everyone in the family calls me that now.

Jam/Jammer mom and dad used to call me this.. no idea why, never asked but I assume it's because jam sounds like amb?

In high school my friends call me Ber (brrr) because I'm addicted to ice. They used to call me Red because of my hair.. I hate that, my hair is NOT red darnit.

My friend Kimmie calls me "Jezzieluv" mostly because she can't remember my real name and partly because she's just weird like that. I used Jezzie as an online name like 15 years ago... you'd think she's know my name by now.

The strangest by far is Blake. A few really close friends and I had this strange conversation one day (totally sober believe it or not) and somehow we ended up renaming each other to boy names. It's stuck and to this day we still refer to each other by our boy names.. which gets us strange looks sometimes.

In baseball it was Big 8. Don't ask why. It's a long story.
A kid at the feed store started calling me Jear-Bear (first name is Jared) and it seems to have stuck with the ladies.
I get called Jerry a lot, cause one of the two year olds called me that since it was easier to say.
And, depending on what I've done to them at the time, there's a list of various other names my co-workers call me that are not appropriate for here.

Just plain "D". Now my son calls me that too except he repeats it three times like "dee dee dee". He told me to watch The Mind of Mencia and then I'd understand

In grade school, "Twiggy" - hated that.
My sister used to call me Mahogany. Don't ask me why. New word she learned in her pre-pubic stage. She calls me "Marie" today (my middle name)
Husband calls me shitbagger sometimes (appropriate for litterbox duty too).
And my very good gay friend calls me Boom Boom.

I call you pussy killer.

Ok.. that by far the funniest thing I've read today. I'm sending you my drycleaning bill.

Kenny (I'm called that more then my real name now.)

Sharpie Smoker (dont ask...)

I have had ladies call me God a few times. i guess they were talking to me anyway. OH GOD!! WHAT?OH GOD!! WHAATT??? they never answer though
