Any plans were dashed by the fire and fireworks ban.
Mrm. I heard something about a ban. I heard they were going to do something at some country club in Cheyenne Meadows. I'd go, but I hate those roundabouts in that area. Haven't been up that way much either except to go to the zoo twice.
I wonder if they're doing anything on Pikes Peak.. they had a decent display on New Years that we could seem from our place.

Then yesterday afternoon 4" off rain and 6" of small hail (melted quickly for 10" in less than 2 hours) caused a lot of erosional damage to the driveways and roads. An amateur roadgrader operator had wiped out two critical crossdrains, which filled my driveway culvert with granite gravel, and made the street a river. I'll be on the loader/backhoe tractor today and probably on Independence Day, too. A reminder that Freedom isn't free, and Independence takes work, and more work.
We didn't get a whole lot of rain! Lots of thunder and lightning though.
Sucks about the culvert.. and amen to the freedom isn't free.
