This burns me up.

The cross has been on Mt. Soledad for quite sometime, it was there before some guy sued to have it taken down and it still stands. I don't know how many of ya'll have been to San Diego, but this cross isn't some huge ugly monster chunked down in the middle of nowhere.. it's a fairly simple yet beautiful cross on hillside. You can't see it from everywhere and half the time if you're not looking for it you'd miss it.

This cross means a lot to people, it's not just some religious thing put there to annoy the non-believers. It has a lot of history to it. It's a war memorial for crying out loud.

I hate that it may have to be torn down to appease the very few people who it offends. For some reason they can't just not look at it.. they have to ruin things for everyone else. It's a shame that this beloved landmark may be taken away.

By the way.. I'm about as far from religious as it gets, if I set foot in a church I'd probably be hit by lightning not once but twice just to make sure the job was done.

sounds like me...last time I saw the inside of a church was 45 yrs ago
only because I was under-aged and forced to go.

with all the other crap going on in the world you would think people
could put their energy to better use.

I wonder sometimes just what makes people tick.
I fail to see how this cross is hurting anyone. Obviously its been there for awhile.
Hate to have to admit this but Archer is right - people are greedy and don't care how they get what they want.
How in the world did we ever get to this point.
Oh Origam - btw- I doubt lightning would strike you. The Lord is quite forgiving !!!

Maybe the cross will just melt away, one of the people who work for me has been in San Diego for the last week and when they called to arranged for a pickup at the airport Wed. they told me the temperature and humidity was out of sight for that area. In the 80s in both temperature and humidity and even hotter inland.

Wayne, according to my Nana on Sunday it was 112degrees in her neck of the woods. She's about a 10 minute drive from the ocean too. Friend of mine who lives in Lakeside said it was about 115 on Saturday. Kind of makes me thankful for all the rain CO. Springs has been getting.

Denni, CA has been having a energy crisis for a while. There were threats of rolling brown outs and other fun stuff for the longest time. It's crazy.

Lacy, I'm sure he is forgiving.. but I don't think I'll take any chances.

What we have is the opposite of democracy. We generally have the minority of any given type, dictating to the majority. Forcing us to pay for bilingual, or accept disgusting things. Taking God out of the Pledge of Allegiance, or even eliminating the whole Pledge for citizenship. The demands of the minority in loud media hyped screeches, while the will of the majority is not done.
Another thing is that the USA was built as a Representative Democracy Republic, with the assumption of a well informed electorate. The electorate is getting less informed and the representative are not representing the majority of the people. Most of our elected "representatives" immediately get corrupted or brainwashed by screeching special interests or the greed of the corporate big bucks, NWO, CFR, who knows ? Bought government workers making 3x inflation from the first Earth Day of 1970. The rich getting richer from profit margins increasing from 10% to 500 to 2,500%. The poor subsidized by the middle class who are disappearing into the poor class themselves, and very few are doing anything to stop overpopulation, global warming, water depletion and soil depletion.
