It is with a heavy heart that I impart the news that former Air Evac 12 pilot Andrea Pantchenko was killed Friday night in a helicopter crash (article below). Many of us remember Andrea, who was a recent Russian immigrant, from when he flew for our local Air Evac base about a year ago. Andrea was a happy, likeable person with a sly sense of humor hiding behind his thick accent. He was an excellent pilot, extremely smooth on the controls, and always easy going. He had an endless curiosity and explored the world with fervor. Prior to coming to the U.S., Andrea flew in Spain. He left Air Evac Lifeteam after two years of service and returned to the west coast to fly contract helicopters.
Andrea's wife, Titania, is in Russia and efforts are under way to reach her there.
Годспеед my brother, иу вилл б forever missed. Танк you.
