Maybe someone who is in the HVAC industry,or knows the industry
or knows anyone in HVAC can help me out here.

I had a new Ducane Heat Pump installed 2 months ago by a local
contractor who defaulted on doing some followup work after the
installation...one being installing the heat kit component
(stupid me for paying him until all contractual agreements had been fulfilled but I am addressing that matter through other channels).

I contacted the company and explained what happened and told them
I needed a REPUTABLE contractor to finish the installation
that is an authorized dealer due to the 5 year warranty svc on parts.

Was given another company to call and I inquired about ordering the
heat kit component myself and then getting the new contractor to install
as I didn't want this guy coming over charging me $400. for a kit that
costs $75 but have since discovered how tightly closed this industry
is when it comes to ordering parts and supplies.

The unit is a Ducane 2SHP13B model,,the mfg# of the heat kit
is PHK05BP-1 for a 5 kw heater(Ducane is a product of Lennox Intl and RE Michel is a distributor of Ducane parts).

I found the same mfg# for the Whirlpool unit for $72.45 on the site below
and wonder if that is the same part that can be used in the Ducane unit.

can someone explain the difference in kw output between 5 and 7.5...
my new unit is a 2.5 ton, 30,000 btuh , 240/208 unit supply voltage single phase.

I'm in SouthEastern VA(Tidewater Area) and have a new contractor that I am about to call to complete the original installation but wanted to prepare myself so I don't get "ripped off" again.
I have to stick with the contractor provided by the company because
of the warranty on parts.

was trying to find the part I need so that I could see what the cost is
and discovered how difficult it is for anyone not in the business to gain
access to info on parts/supplies and cost.

I found a comparable part for a Whirlpool Packaged Unit and wanted
to know if that same part could be installed on my unit but I can't
even find a picture of it.
